Speaking with Fox News, Dr. Collins is hopeful about the COVID-19 vaccine candidates beginning large scale clinical trials this summer
Dr. Collins praises the collaborative efforts of the private and public sectors to find a vaccine for COVID-19. In the interview he says it is comparable to how both sectors worked together on the Human Genome Project, but emphasizes that the urgency for a COVID-19 vaccine is much greater, given the number of people losing their lives to the disease.
