×îÐÂÂ鶹ÊÓƵ is one of the first institutions in Massachusetts to offer a graduate certificate ​in Transition Specialist leading to endorsement as a Transition Specialist as recognized by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
Whether you work in a school system or for a non-profit organization, you will learn how to better support individuals with special needs prepare for post-secondary education, employment, and independent living. This certificate is designed to meet the standards, guidelines, and competency requirements established by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) for Transition Specialist Endorsement and the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC). Students who do not seek endorsement will receive a certificate of program completion issued by ×îÐÂÂ鶹ÊÓƵ.
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts urges school districts ​and private facilities to address the complex academic, communication, social, and behavioral needs of individuals with disabilities, including the transition process. This​ post-Bachelor’s program will open doors to new career opportunities and help those with disabilities become successful adults in our communities.
Applicants are required to hold a bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited institution.
Students seeking the DESE Endorsement Track are also required to hold a minimum of 2-years of experience under one of the following licenses or certifications:
